Do women really like black men?

I’m black and I joined match.com recently after I broke up with my girlfriend. At the bottom of a person’s profile they list what they want in a match; height, build, race, ect. Here’s the thing: almost all of the non-black women don’t put African-American as one of their choices for race. 99% of the time they chose white, whether they are white, asian, latin or whatever. Many list various races but almost never African-American. And I live in Los Angeles, so it’s not like I am talking about some backward southern town. I also looked at profiles from other areas and encountered the same thing.
I always hear about how women love black men, if this is true, why wouldn’t more women list that on those sites?

I am a white woman and it doesn’t matter to me your race, religion, hair color, eye color skin color. I have dated many different races all that matters is how you treat a person. Whether or not you can make her laugh. Things in that nature. All in all I do not understand why they do that either. race should not matter the person itself should matter.
